For the last few weeks, the Daruma team has been working hard in a variety of aspects for our story and development! We had a group of three work on the Rough 3D Layout Animatic, two of us texturing, one exploring VFX, and rigging! It was great and vital to see how the layout animatic came out to visually capture our story, and this element gave us a chance to see areas in which are strong and others that may need some adjustments to be clearer for the viewers. This was an important step for the group to get a good grasp on how it all feels and if the flow of the composition is what we are aiming for! These past two weeks, we also got in contact with a very enthusiastic composer and sound design student, who is eager to work with us to create some important music for our story! We have been communicating with Ashlynne, and we have provided the animatic to her, so she can work her magic! Thus far, my primary focus has been doing various texture tests and research for Kumo's room! I have been working closely alongside with Madison, as we are both tackling the bedroom, as our group prepares for our completed rendered sequence! I have also modeled the Kotatsu table and chairs, and several more assets in the room, while doing their UVs. In the master scene, I have set up the texture nodes for Madison and I on all of the room assets, that way it will be easier and efficient for us to have that ready to enter in the texture files and go from there! Madison and I have divided the room assets to relatively similar materials, that way the techniques and outcomes are similar throughout! So far, it looks great and meshes well together! It's great to have someone to bounce and build ideas off with, especially to capture the feel and nature that we intend to have Kumo's room express! In terms of the goals that I wanted to achieve for these last two weeks, I have been able to complete them! I was really needing to finish the Kotatsu table (and shaped it around Kumo sitting) and texture those assets, as it will be our main location for our completed rendered sequence, that is coming up on November 19th. These texture tests have been great for the group to see and receive any feedback on how they would like the room to feel as well! I hope to continue to grow with this momentum and keep creating more for this group! The goals for the group for these past two weeks, were to flesh out the details of the layout animatic, VFX magic testing, rigging, and texturing; all of which we were able to reach successfully as a group! Below I will provide the individual texture tests that I did on the assets I created, as well as the 3D Layout Animatic that was created by Skyler, Hannah, and Shayna (all edited by Skyler). The goals for the next few weeks, again, will adjust as we meet and discuss this further tomorrow in class! My goal is to really flesh out the majority of the assets and get the rest of Kumo's room 80% or more completed texture wise with Madison! It would be great, and I hope to be able to work on even more aspects, but I will be flexible as to where my resources will be necessary for the team! As for a goal I can expect to have with the rest of the group would be to start detailing how we want our rendered sequence to be, and to continue what each of us have been contributing for the team in the pipeline! As of now, I have not run into any challenges or foresee any within the two-week period! Overall, I am very proud of the Daruma team and the progress we have done! Enjoy seeing the progress of Kumo's room and story come to life!

There has been great progress overall for the Daruma group, as we are getting our assets and UVs of each environment and character to 80% or further! This will be a positive jumping off point as we head towards doing our 3D Layout Animatic that is due on October 22nd! This past week, we were able to meet up with our mentor Eric, to catch him up on our progress and see how he thinks our progress is coming along! We got some helpful feedback and encouraging notes, as he is very pleased and reassured us that we are at a solid point with our progress. It was important having another set of eyes look onto our work, and address any areas that we may have missed. I took some brief notes for any members who weren't able to make it, and I will attach them below! There were great tips and notes from Eric for us to keep in perspective, especially when it comes to piecing all of the shots together and making sure that each of the models look cohesive! We will be planning on putting that together once our group begins the layout animatic in the coming days! For these past two weeks, I have been caught up doing UVs on assets in Kumo's room, Campus buildings, and Control Tower. All of which I was able to meet my goal and get them to at least 80% finished and some even further! It has come down to the nitty gritty of details found in Kumo's room, especially since I need to consider what will be seen in the camera. As of now, it is at a good point with the amount of detail that the group is happy with! I have also finished modeling and UVing the control tower for the group! The campus building is getting close to being 80% done with modeling and UVing, which was the goal I wanted to set for myself. The only aspect that I felt that I may have not reached my goal was with the layout of the tarmac and runway, I intend getting further with this goal when we start the animatic to see where elements may need to be adjusted! Besides that, I am happy with my progress and ready to make even more strides! When it comes to the goals for the group within the next few weeks, it is to definitely have the majority of the camera work and layout for the animatic to a good point. The team will meet up tomorrow to flesh out more details on what we would like to have done as a group, and ultimately my goals will adjust to what is said as well. There are some personal goals that I would like to set for myself during the next two weeks, which would be to make some texture tests of the assets that I have made. I have been very eager to get that aspect going to really get a feel of the atmosphere and express the environment that the team is wanting the story to be! This also means for me to have, ideally, all of the UVs completed in both Kumo's room and the Campus! A stretch goal for me to also try and get some of the assets that need some sculpting into ZBrush, such as Kumo's comforter and the Kotatsu blanket. All of these goals will be adjusted and evaluated once I discuss with the group as to what areas I need to help in, especially if I will be helping in the layout animatic! As of now, I have not run into any notable challenges or concerns that need to be addressed! I feel excited and confident with how the group is working, it is all about keeping that momentum! I have also made a demo reel that focuses on hard surface modeling and texturing, that way I can get feedback on it as well from my professors! This will be valuable to see what is successful and what I need to work on, that way I can show growth over the upcoming months! I will provide renders of my models, some UVs, and notes of what I have accomplished over the last two weeks! There will also be a link to my work in progress demo reel! Enjoy! The Daruma group has made some great strides to get our assets and creations to an 80% point! We have been giving each other feedback that addressed notes from Professors and students, which has made the work we have done look cohesive and fit the overall look we want from our short! But that doesn't shy away from the fact that we have our 3D Layout Animatic due in less than a month, so we will need to start making our way there! For these past two weeks, there were goals that I set that I was able to complete, but there were other tasks that were assigned to me within this past week, which I was excited to take on! I was able to get Kumo's layout finalized, and honestly it is way more functional and applicable to how Kumo will eventually interact with the space! I also did more research on apartments found in Japan and integrated more of those features into the apartment that I have created! I expanded on the Genkan, which is the formal entrance in apartments/homes, where shoes are removed before entering the rest of the space. I also added the Kotatsu table for Kumo, as (right now) we are planning on having the story take place during the Spring and Winter time. Within Kumo's room, I have got the majority of the assets that are currently there to 80% of completion/rendering, like the rice cooker, fish cooker, etc. Also, I have completed at least 80% of the UVs found within the apartment! Within this past week, I have roughly drawn out the layout for our Campus/Hangar scenes that we will have in our short. I worked alongside Skyler to get this set out to how Kumo will work around this space as well! I was then assigned and jumped on to blocking out (and UVing!) to create the campus buildings, basing off the Kokusai Aviation College as reference. I have also been given the control tower building, sidewalks, and tarmac! All of which is displayed below! It was also great to get some feedback from my group with how they feel about the amount of progress on Kumo's room, as I wanted to get a sense of where I should be! I asked if Kumo's room is at a solid place regarding the amount of assets that fill the space, and the group felt that it is at a great spot to be in! Also, that it was a great time to start expanding further and focus on other aspects, which were given this week! I was eager to provide additional help and model these buildings, modeling is very fun!! The group is meeting tomorrow where we will discuss a more fleshed out goal that we want to set for the next few weeks! I want to make some personal goals for the next two weeks that I can expect myself to get done. I want to get the campus buildings to 80% complete, as well as for the control tower. This also includes having at least 80% of the UVs completed on these assets. Also, having the layout set for these assets! The hurdle that I can possibly see with the group would be seeing how much of the 3D Layout Animatic will be completed by the October 8th deadline! Overall, the Daruma group has adapted well to all of the significant changes, and it is encouraging to see the team shine from all of this! Enjoy the progress of my work below! Since the last blog post there has been some changes to the overall team and the story of Daruma. We had two member unexpectedly leave the group a day before classes started. It was abrupt and initially very shocking, but the rest of our group used that energy to overcome this obstacle and to get excited about the new changes that will come for our future! It is events like these that really put in a great perspective as to what we can handle and overcome as a team. On the first day of class, we got to watch our animatic for the first time in awhile, and this allowed us to fall in love with our story all over again! We saw it with fresh eyes after taking a short break from it, and it was the spark that our group needed off the bat!
After watching it again with our class, we got some insightful feedback from our peers and professors. They provided an area of guidance where our group was unsure about, which was "how and where do we narrow down our story?" We wanted our story to still have a strong impact, but not as prolonged as it was before. This was due to the fact that we had to reevaluate and reorganize our tasks and roles as a 'new' group. We had a thorough meeting after our first class, we fleshed out all the nitty-gritty aspects and that is when I noticed a sign of relief from my group. We wanted to keep spirits up and high, reaffirming that we can accomplish this beautiful short, even if we have gone through significant changes. I found this to be very inspirational to see this from our group, as now we can start taking a lead on this Senior Short! Now to get into what I have been up to for the last two weeks, starting from August 23rd to September 3rd, 2021. The team has set weekly goals, and for mine, it was to start working on the assets to make Kumo's room hers and feel lived in, and to really think about the overall layout of her room. I wanted to think of functionality and practicality when it comes to Kumo's room, especially considering how the characters Kumo and Daruma will be animated in! I have been doing a lot of research and finding inspiration looking into the details that are commonly found in apartments in Japan. Especially due to the fact that I want to capture the feeling and overall look that are in quaint, modern, and smaller apartments in Japan. It has been great to notice the different appliances, floor layouts, and items that reside in many apartments. This is adding character and life to a room! I want this room to really capture and represent the loving and motivated character that Kumo is. I am implement that into the style and detail within her room. At the end of this post I will include some work-in-progress images of how the room is coming along! For the next two weeks (September 6th to September 17th,2021), the goals with the group will be decided when we meet up tomorrow and on Sunday the 5th. This will be a great place to see where the team is and communicate on where we would like to be in the next couple of weeks! I do have some personal goals going into the upcoming weeks, which is to reach 80% of the assets in Kumo's room to be present, have the layout of the room set, and possibly begin UVing the objects. As of now, getting all of the objects in her room present is my priority! As of now I do not foresee any challenges or issues, as this group has a great streamline of communication! Here are the images of the work that I have done so far for Kumo's apartment! Over these past two weeks our group has made great strides in accomplishing our goal and working out products for our 'Production Bible.' This has included the concept art sketches of character turn-arounds and environments, where we continue to explore the qualities and the textures to go along with it all. Our team has separated into the story and look development groups, in which we have been able to accomplish a lot of great work during this time! Even with separating into these groups we have been in constant communication and have worked together to make our work even stronger! Our story has come a very long way and we are all so eager to where this story has expanded to and the feedback we have received from the necessary changes! There were many successes since the last update for our group, and it has provided great momentum for everyone! It makes me that much more excited to see this story come to life! There were challenges near the beginning of these past two weeks especially surrounding our story and how it flowed together. The story group had worked with other peers and professors to really evolve the story to the point where it has reached today. Our group also wanted to make sure that our story has culturally accurate elements and reached out to a professor most of us have had for art history and arts of Japan, Dr. Wang. This was tremendous help to get her insight and perspective, not only as someone who understands the dynamics of culture in a story, but also as a engaged viewer. We met up with her to get some of her feedback and thoughts, it was an amazing perspective, and we made such adjustments to expand on what we had. There were some cultural elements and other parts of the story that needed some adjustment that she noticed based on the Japan culture, which was vital for us. She expressed how important it is for our group to express this culture and the people, especially during the time we are in right now. Dr. Wang had a wonderful and endearing reaction to our story and was very impressed with the message and purpose of it all! This was the insight that we needed to inform and learn from her knowledge! Many thanks and appreciation goes out to Dr. Wang with working with us through this process, as we want to show as much respect and accuracy to our story! The Daruma Team has met the goal that we had set out a few weeks ago, as we have been creating a lot of work towards our 'Production Bible.' We have made progress to bring the elements of the story to life and it is exciting to see how each of the parts will interact with one another. We had also got the story to a great point to where we can start to focus on the look development, while still growing with the story! Working on these elements of character sheets and environment concept art, I have found it to be very helpful for myself and the group to have these iterations produced early and often. This has allowed for me to receive great feedback from the group and to make adjustments where it was needed. For example, I had two variations of the Daruma character, but it was a group decision as to which character had the most appeal. It was beneficial as an artist to hear their thoughts and translate them to make the concept and design even stronger. These past two weeks I have been creating some of the environment concept art, character sheets, texture call-outs, and blocking out Kumo's apartment in Maya. I have some renderings of Kumo's apartment illustrated, with textuer call-out sheets, and have begun translating that into 3D, with a rough block layout. It was great to set this up and begin to think structurally and the overall size and space of her apartment. It is great to build and express Kumo's character to how her room is put together, it creates another way for the viewer to connect with the main character. I have also illustrated a turn-around of Daruma, facial expression sheet, construction sheet, texture call-outs, and evolution of Kumo's wish being fulfilled with Daruma. This was a great way to have some more information about Daruma and what qualities I should venture in to, in order to express his purpose successfully! Overall, our group is excited to see our process and the work that we have been putting in, and receiving some positive feedback from our peers! For the next two weeks, our group plans on getting the elements of the 'Production Bible' closer to being finished, as we are checking off the list in a timely manner. We also want to have out rough environment layouts to be blocked out in the coming days. Then the group will focus on getting the rough layout animatic worked through, with some simple animation and camera work. The group has a build spark and it is pushing us through this coming stretch, as the end of the semester is nearing! Below is a slideshow of the many concept art I have done for Kumo's apartment and character sheets for Daruma! For these past two weeks the Daruma Team has been working and adjusting our story based on the initial feedback that we had received from our professors. We have since created a few more iterations of the script, in which led us to this rough storyboard animatic. Our group was excited and ready to go with this version of the story, as we felt that it conveyed a stronger message and aligned more to the feedback we had received, plus we were eager to get the ball rolling! This round of storyboards we had five of us dividing the new script and expanding on the frames that we initially had. It was great to have the majority of the team take on this fun and exciting endeavor!
We meet our goals that we had set out for these past two weeks, as we wanted to get the story in a place that we were satisfied with and were confident in the message that we were trying to convey. We also met our other initial goal of completing this version of our storyboards. It was encouraging for our group to see the progression and story come to life through this process. There were some areas within the animatic that do need some adjustments and reconfiguring, but it is expected with this journey; we are learning along the way! Our group also began to finalize our pipeline structure and documentation, in which we have decided to go back with Prism and go from there. These were goals that helped us head in the right direction and feel as though we are moving forward with our story. Within this last week, we had received the "Production Bible" from our professors, which are environment and character packages to include to follow a set design standard. We are planning on furthering developing our concepts, to further bring our story to life! What I was able to contribute for this week's progress check has been some more storyboards, including many frames from the last iteration. I am also currently working on concept art and design for our main character, Kumo's room. I am blocking out the layout of her apartment, just to get a sense of who she is and what she is like, with these extra details. I am drawing out her apartment with some isometric views to get a better sense of the space that she will be living in! The issues that we faced came today with the entire class meeting, where we got some feedback and leading our team to start to reassemble the pieces we have in a more coherent way. The professors were left confused in some areas and noted that the storyboards could be stronger as a whole. Our group did spend more time on the story aspect of this presentation due date, and maybe that is where it impacted how the storyboards correlated with each other. Our group needs to focus on the transitioning of elements of the story so that it flows better and show the relationship of each person to Kumo, but really focus on elevating Kumo's story as a whole. This will be an important step for our group to take and to grow as a group! For these next two weeks, we will most likely be spending it by adjusting the story to the comments we had received today and continuing the concept art for our "Production Bible." Hopefully with these pieces of art and expansion of our story, it'll be stronger and have a better outcome! These concept pieces will help guide us style, color, texture, and overall mood/tone of the story, which I am very excited about! Below are the new storyboards that I did for this recent version of our animatic! My previous boards that are shown in the video are posted in a past blog! This is a part of Kumo's first flight simulation, just before she runs into some turbulence and needing to refer back to what she has learned to find a solution! For the past two weeks, the Daruma team has been diving into their research and finding great films to watch that has helped guide us with our own story! We have been looking at films that tackle the idea of planes, flight, and montage sequences. These have lead us to develop our own thoughts and ideas that we will consider in our new iteration of our story script! We got some necessary feedback from our professors based on the previous script that we had, and they noted some similar issue areas of the script that the group initially found as well. This feedback allowed us to go to the drawing board again and problem solve through the parts that needed some extra attention. This lengthy discussion that we had as a group, provided an exciting momentum as we were able to find a jumping off point for this new story iteration.
After first with the feedback we had received, our group did feel a little concerned and even lost as to where we wanted to go and how to go about it. Which was to be expected and it was a great learning point for our group to talk through this and expand on each of our ideas, and finding ways to push the ideas further. We got some vital input and ideas from our mentor, Eric, which really helped solidify our path that the story was heading in! It really helped illuminate some of the hidden details and messages that we intended our story to capture. This was a starting point that really got the ball moving for our story and for each of us to share our ideas on how we can make the story even stronger! I took some time to write out a detailed list and points that we could add to our story. These were just some out of the box and ideas that wasn't originally written in our script, but was another route for the story to go through in the areas that felt a little less entertaining. These were just some thoughts to begin some building blocks of thinking more about the details in the story! Many of the group members found that some of the later notes that I had listed would be great to include in the story and to further expand on the notion of the inequality that Kumo immediately faces, without exactly saying it with words. Also, the team liked the symbolic moments and qualities that were presented to also add to the visual part of storytelling! I am excited to see how these ideas can help contribute further in our story! Even though we did not necessarily meet our initial goal of starting our storyboards, the extra time that we took to do our research and write out possibilities was very impactful for our group! Having all of these ideas helped solve the initial issues that we faced by problem solving and using some creative initiative! This was the boost of energy that the team needed, and we are very eager to get the storyboards going! Alongside with the storyboards and the next iteration of story script, we have been discussing our pipeline and functionality. We have decided to look into and work with Prism for our pipeline, but we know it is flexible to switch to a system structure that we have used in previous projects. We will also have our concept artists flesh out some more ideas for the major settings in our story! This will be our goal for the next two weeks, getting the storyboard animatic done, discuss more about pipeline, and concepts! Excited to get the ball rolling again! Below are images of the notes that I listed for possibilities and directions that the story could head in, if you would like to take a look at what I had and envisioned as an alternative route! These past two weeks for my group have been vital to see our story come together! We have begun to piece together concept art of the characters in the film and the main settings that our story will be taking place! Our team has been taking the time to do our research and be influenced by other movies and short films to help us execute our ideas and purpose of our film. This has brought on a great discussion for the group, as we have been bouncing thoughts and opinions off of each other! We want to make the story more engaging for the viewers and have a story that we all can connect with, so we have been taking on this task by looking at films that deal with some of the main ideas at hand and how we can visually expand our thoughts! The group has been meeting our goals that we had set up prior, now it is time to execute it and see it all in action! During these two weeks, I was able to reach my goals that I had set for myself, which were to create half of the animatic for the team and add to revisions for our script! I was able to create the second half of our animatic through these rough beat boards, in order to bring our story to life and to present to our professors and fellow peers for feedback! While Hannah worked on the first half of the story, the video linked above are the thumbnails that I sketched out and provided for the group! I created this rough animatic of the pieces I worked on, just to get the idea across and perspective we were coming from! Our group was excited to see how all of the elements played out and was eager to see the reaction from the rest of the class! We got some great feedback and thoughts about elements in our film. Many connected to the story, but also some had some wonderful ideas as to how we can expand and truly reflect more of the Japanese culture. With all of the possibilities, the Daruma Team took this week to do some research and further refinement on what each of us would like to see out of our short. We have had some meetings were members brought of possibilities for our story to help further convey the message, as suggested by the feedback from our class. The team is going through the process of developing ideas and routes that would make the story feel complete and more well-rounded for the audience! That is what we plan on doing in the next two weeks, to truly find our way and work on evolving the story to better reflect the message and the visual narrative that should be taken away! As we were introduced to the many possibilities and options of expanding our story, this left our group coming up with many versions of the story, but we have not concluded the options quite yet. This was the purpose for our team to really do some research about gender inequality and how other films executed daydream sequences, to help guide us in our further revisions of the story! We took notes of what tools that successful films used to display such strong topics, and then try to reflect that into our story! Below are all of my thumbnails that I composed together, all of which are found in the animatic! The ability to work on the beat boards has allowed me to fully comprehend our story, but also think about shot types with our composition, which will be beneficial to consider when we start putting our short together! This first pass will allow me as an artist to make further improvements with composition and adding further details (ex. thinking of depth). Within these past two weeks, our group has made some great progress with our story. We have been delving deep into structure and the bare bones of our story! With the advice of our mentor, Eric, the Daruma team has started to flesh out the details of our story into smaller and more manageable chunks. This just means we need to get our story and meaning across in a reduced manner, as the story and extra elements can always expand as we see fit, but only when there is enough time allotted. We have created a system to break down what should be in the bare bones of our story into three categories: what are the most important elements, what could be nice to additionally include that are not as vital, and lastly, what is not necessary for the story. This has allowed my team to reflect on what the meaning of our story is, but also what can be accomplished within a more condensed and reasonable structure. However, our team has been very diligent into making sure we have enough substance and detail to the story, so we are not creating any shortcuts with the value of our script. We have been making sure the story and the arc of the characters come through clearly and precisely!
At the beginning of our story planning process, we had some rough scripts created following the original proposed story, but it had a lot of extra details into it! We have had very clear discussions of what each of us thought based on the first rough script and people also contributed their own edits to the script as they saw fit. There were many great elements, but this initial script did bring some differing opinions on what the story's real meaning was for. Our group handled such discussions with respect and an open-mind for each others opinions, and we have used a variety of options to come to a compromise that work with the entire team. These discussions with each person's opinions on the story, allowed us to grow and problem-solve through furthering the development of the script. We have had meaningful conversations as to how we want to make sure we are respecting the culture of our protagonist, who lives in Japan. Our group has reached out to the Asian Student Association at the University of Colorado Denver to see if we can get some input on our script and some questions that may arise. We also have a member in our group who has a friend that lives in Japan to reach out to about the lifestyle in Japan and she has offered to read our story to make sure it is appropriate and respectful. I have personally contributed to some of the manners that I had learned from my time being in Japan and learning more about the culture from my guide that I had on my own journey. Our group has stressed the importance of researching and how we want to accurately reflect the Japanese culture, which has been beneficial to adding more information to our story and strengthening it. For the work that has been produced so far, it has consisted of two rough scripts and another coming this week that has been adjusted to our revisions, rough character sketches, building concept art, and a quick beat board. Many of these aspects have been further developing the mood board and style sheet of our project. Each of these elements will be further adjusted and improved, but it has been a great starting point to see the story come to life and characters being developed! We are making great strides with this process and it has continued to bring excitement to our group seeing everything coming together with time! We have been meeting our goals that we have set, especially with the progress of the story and having the initial sketches done early! Below are the initial sketches of some concept art of our protagonist, Kumo's, apartment that I created for the team! This has helped with narrowing the style that we are aiming for, which is reflected in the first image, as it is more traditional and common throughout Japan! Within these first few weeks of meeting up with my team, mentor, and class, there was a large focus on clear discussion and where we all would like to set goals for this upcoming adventure. At the beginning, we all wanted to get a clear understanding as to what we expect from this Pre-Production and Look Development class, and to recognize the purpose that this initial step has for the rest of our process. We met up with our mentor, Eric, who is a current senior and has been giving us amazing advice on what has been the most beneficial tools/structure to work efficiently and effectively as a group. With his perspective, it helped narrow our groups ability to start breaking the process down into smaller steps and not be so overwhelmed by the substance of this senior short!
Our group has developed our Team Charter, where we set some overarching goals and expectations that we want to uphold to each other and the story that we are working towards. This Charter is our way of maintain a sense of roles and responsibilities that we should sustain, whether it is through each of our meetings, objectives, and story's progress. We addressed how we want to have a strong commitment to each other, as if we were family! This was an initial step of our team's overall expectations, but overtime those processes may/will expand and grow as we are going through this journey. Another exciting step was beginning to layout our flexible Production Team roles! We took our meetings during class to go over what each teammate would like to focus on and areas at which they can also contribute to. We had a great goal of assigning leadership roles in different departments for each member, one of which that best suited their strengths and interests. This gives each of us a strong responsibility to keep for our group and support each other when it came to decision-making/oversight for each element of the pipeline. Having leadership opportunities will be a beneficial experience and to simulate what is expected in real production studios. A side note to this is, many of us can step in to help one another, and no one is restricted to one element over the other! Supporting each other will be key for this! As of now, I have been assigned as the Texturing and Shading Supervisor and one of the Production Managers, while also being in the Art Department, Modeling Department, and being an Animator! All of which I am eager to contribute to! This past week, our team went through a LinkedIn training course that provided tips and helpful demonstrations as to what goes into make a well-rounded, high functioning team. It was beneficial to go through that course to understand how to handle any conflict that may arise, prevent/learn from it for the future, and the impact that strong communication has within teams. During this time, I was taking some notes along the way about the main points of the training course, not only for me to refresh myself with, but it was used to help my group through the quizzes and to reflect on as a whole in our Friday meetings. I was taking notes alongside Skyler as well! I have also been recording notes of what our group has been mentioning to each other throughout each of our meetings, while also incorporates the advice from Eric! I have been uploading them to our team Discord server for us to look back on and recall any of the information. I will attach the two that were created based on the beginning criteria that our group has discussed, and if you are interested you can read through them or if you just appreciate observing notes, then enjoy! I tend to take notes on the side for my own ability to remember the highlights of our meetings, but they are also there for my team members as well! Throughout these past two weeks, our group has been successful at communicating our thoughts and being open and honest about what is to come for the next year and a half. I am learning how each of my teammates express their concerns and what areas are the most common for our group, but it is great that we are figuring all of this out earlier! This was shown through our meeting on Friday January 29th, where we found similar concerns to the use of Prism during this stage of Pre-Production. We were open with each of our takes on the program, but did not want to discard the idea immediately. Overall, each of these steps may not feel as big as they appear to be, but these are necessary for our group to be stronger and have great improvements within the coming days, weeks, and months! We are creating essential building blocks towards our goals! And most importantly, we should have fun and enjoy working on this project together! |
